Carrot Biscuit Snack by Hongfu / Nice
Best Snacks from Taiwan
First things first, this snack doesn’t really taste like carrots. I was expecting a super-healthy tasting, veggie inspired cracker. Not at all! This Taiwanese snack is like a bag of little crispy wontons with a sweet and peppery flavor. They are delicious! At first the flavor is mild, with a bit of sweetness as a leading taste. But, after a few seconds the light spicy goodness hits your tongue. It isn’t a hot spicy, but rather a peppery-flavorful spice.
Each piece is perforated, and you can choose to eat it in 1 bite or break it into 3! I cannot quite explain what makes these crackers so tasty. The bags are definitely a single serving size and too small for sharing. But, it’s a good thing they are small because once you start, it is hard to put them down. These Carrot Biscuits are a fun, family-friend snacking option!
The Hongfu company started in Mainland China as a small, family-run business in the 1950s. They officially registered in Taiwan in 1971. Today they export to countries around the world, and the Carrot Biscuits are marketed under the Nice Choice brand.
