Roasted Chicken Wing Flavor Lay's
乐事大波浪烧鸡翅味
Chips & Snacks from China
I had really high hopes for Roasted Chicken Wing Flavor chips from Lay’s. But, honestly they weren’t that great. The brightly colored, bold packaging stands out, and I was hoping for a savory, chicken-y crunch. The crunch is definitely there, but the flavor is questionable.
Open up the bag, and you’ll notice that these chips do not have a strong scent. But, the texture and crunch is super satisfying. The ridges hold up during packaging and give the chips a more substantial feeling in your mouth. Unfortunately, the chicken wing flavor never came through for me. They also have a slight sweetness that is unexpected and a bit strange. One friend thought they tasted a bit like eating chicken bouillon. Like many savory snacks coming out of China, these do have MSG as an ingredient.
Roasted Chicken Wing Flavor Lay’s weren’t my favorite, but give them a try! Let us know in the comments if you agree!

Lay's (乐事) Company in China
Lay’s Roasted Chicken Wing chips are one of many flavors released locally since the company’s arrival in the market in the 1990s. Potatoes for chips in China (and now also Southeast Asia) are grown locally on large-scale farms established in Mongolia. By 2013 Frito-Lay was winning awards in China for their product performance and popularity with consumers. They are continuously innovating with their new flavor releases, and in 2020 released new varieties with Chinese flavor origins such as Peking Duck & White Rabbit Candy.
